The Embassy of Portugal and the Cinematheques introduce the 10th edition of PORTUGAL Film Week, to open in Tel Aviv on the 7th of September (Jerusalem - 8/9, Haifa – 9/9).

Dedicated to Lisbon, PORTUGAL Film Week # 10 focus on films that were shot in the Portuguese capital – recently considered one of the most beautiful cities in the world and holder of several important awards in the international tourism industry – and have the city not only as background but as an integral part of the script.  

  • ”The Misteries of Lisbon  or What the Tourist Should See” (2009), by José Fonseca e Costa, a documentary based on a book by Portuguese writer Fernando Pessoa
  • “Night Train to Lisbon” (2013), by Bille August
  • “Under My Skin” (2011), by Vicente Alves do Ó 
  • “Beauty and the Paparazzo” (2010), by António-Pedro Vasconcelos
  • “The Mistery of the Sintra Road” (2007), by Jorge Paixão da Costa
  • “Alice” (2005), by Marco Martins
With the exception of ”The Misteries of Lisbon  or What the Tourist Should See”, which is spoken in English, PORTUGAL Film Week #10 presents films in their original versions in Portuguese (with occasional dialogues in other languages), with subtitles in Hebrew. Some of the films also have subtitles in English.

PORTUGAL Film Week # 10 is sponsored by the Portuguese Cultural Institute and the Portuguese Film Institute. The event has the sponsorship of the Lisbon Tourism Board, “Turismo de Lisboa”.
